FAQ

If you’re looking for an evaluator that actually takes you seriously—one that goes beyond checklists and stereotypes—you’re probably in the right place. I work with adults who want clarity, not gatekeeping. Especially those who’ve been overlooked, misdiagnosed, or dismissed before.
Fair question. If you’ve been through the system and still don’t have a clear picture of yourself, the problem probably wasn’t you. A lot of assessments miss the mark for complex presentations: too narrow, too rushed, or built around a checklist that was never designed for someone like you. A good evaluator doesn’t just hand you a label—they map how everything fits together. Which is genuinely my favorite part of this work.
A psychological evaluation is a structured, multi-step process specifically designed to assess how your brain works. It’s not a therapy session and it’s not a 15-minute med check—it’s its own thing entirely. I made a short video breaking it down, including the questions I think you should ask any evaluator before you book.

Yes. Quest Psychology was built specifically for adults. My approach, my tools, and my whole framework are designed for adult presentations of ADHD, Autism, trauma, and complex neurodivergent profiles—not scaled-down versions of pediatric assessments.
Only very occasionally. Adult assessment is my lane, but if your family has been turned away everywhere else or you specifically want to work with Dr. Stanley, pediatric and adolescent evaluations are available on a very limited basis at a higher fee. Reach out and we’ll talk.
Nope. You can come straight to me. No referral, no permission slip, no gatekeeper. If your evaluation is for a specific purpose, I’ll walk you through what documentation you’ll need during our consult.
No, and that’s intentional. Insurance companies were not designed to support your mental health—they were designed to protect their bottom line. Quest Psychology is private pay so that your care stays between you and me, not a corporation.
Access shouldn’t be a privilege. Quest Psychology offers sliding scale fees so that cost is never the only reason someone goes without answers.
Reach out and we’ll figure it out together.
You can, and you’re not alone in asking. Whether your results didn’t fit, your report raised more questions than it answered, or you left with a stack of labels and no clear path forward, a second opinion is a legitimate next step. We often work with individuals seeking re-evaluation.
